10 More Things I think I think.

As usual, stolen entirely from Peter King.

1) All the SEO in the world doesn’t help if your conversion elements suck

2) We don’t send enough emails anymore.  It’s tough for acquisition, but the best for retention.

3) Johnsonville Turkey with Cheddar sausages are better than real hot dogs.  And, I love real hot dogs.

4) Going to dinner with friends tonight.  Rather be working.  I think I have a problem.

5) The startup process has forced me into thinking more like a leader, and less like a cubicle drone.  I’m also much more comfortable talking in front of larger groups of people.

6) My cover of Fast Company is now 14 months away.  I’m calling it right now.

7) It’s pretty easy to tell when running shoes go bad.  One day, they’re great, the next, they are like running on cardboard mats.

8) I should be working instead of blogging.  Or, at least blogging more about work.

9) I need golf lessons.

10) I’d like to hear from real people about their experiences with Rackspace.

10 Things I Think

(required nod to SI’s Peter King for the Idea)

1) I don’t care if you’re my mom, I’m not accepting your invitation to add a Facebook App.  I love you and all, but the only app I’m allowing is Twitter - why?  It let’s me do two things at once.  I have never used it for anything other that updating my status.

2)I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NCAA TOURNEY TO START!  I may have to blog the selection Sunday show again.

3)I need to post more recipes, movie reviews, and general snark - since those sites are directing here now.

4)I’m going to prove you can be successful in the affiliate marketplace without doing shady things.

5)I’d like to monetize this site’s traffic, but I’m not sure how to do it just yet.  Or, if would even be worth it.

6)I think any great idea has to scale and has to apply to different verticals.  It doesn’t hurt if it makes people’s lives genuinely better.  I think we’re working on all that right now.

7)70 degrees and sunny only pays off on days you can leave the office without feeling guilty.  I’m holding out for next Friday.

8)I keep telling myself to focus on the big things…..then I add a couple more cool ideas I want to play with.

9)I’m getting much better with time/effort management.

10)Chipotle just wouldn’t be as good if you had more options than chicken or steak, burrito, taco, or bowl.  It is perfectly simple.

10 things I’m thinking right now.

So, I’m going to bring back an old favorite, the “10 things I think” posts - which I unceremoniously hijacked from SI’s Peter King. They were a crowd favorite back in the day.

1)Blogging is more fun when you do it for you.  No pressure, no traffic stats, no worries.

2)This blog was supposed to be my SEO blog to generate leads.  It’ll be easier to change the title than to try to get excited about that!

3)Vegetarianism may, in fact, have its merits.  I feel really good.

4)I’ve got too much on my plate, and I’m loving it.  Work IS my hobby.  And I’m cool with that.

5)Good running shoes make all the difference.

6)I didn’t watch the SOTU Address tonight.  Because I already know.

7)My Xbox 360 is trying to ruin my life.

8)I’m happiest when I’m productive, but I want to be productive so I can achieve the ability to not feel compelled towards productivity anymore.  ’tis a conundrum.

9)I’m excited about the Half Marathon.  Really.  I think it’s going to rock.  My knees, however, are asking me to re-consider.

10)I’m super excited for this to be back to being ‘My’ blog.  Random.  Meaningless.  Hopefully funny.  Occasionally Poignant.  Practice for my writing skills.

Good enough start I suppose.
